I finished upgrading my two (2) Websites, namely, SEHDI.com | Sofie Estolloso Hofmann Designs International, my web design Website, and SofieHofmann.com | Simple Happiness, my personal Website and blog, using WordPress as a CMS (Content Management System) as well as a blog publishing platform from WordPress 5.0.10 and WordPress 5.0.8 respectively to WordPress 5.5 “Eckstine” version and WordPress 5.5.1 maintenance release.
It took sometime again before I upgraded the Websites. I was not able to upgrade the Websites to WordPress 5.1 “Betty”, WordPress 5.2 “Jaco”, WordPress 5.3 “Kirk”, and WordPress 5.4 Adderley after WordPress 5.0 until last Friday and Saturday, which I finally upgraded to WordPress 5.5, and eventually to WordPress 5.5.1 version.
I did not have any problem as I have redesigned the two (2) Websites. I redesigned Sehdi.com from a fluid two-column theme into a minimalist responsive one-column theme. I revised SofieHofmann.com, also from a fluid two-column theme into a responsive one-column theme based on the old web design.
I backed up the databases first, then secured the files and copies of the themes before uploading the new themes via FTP or File Transfer Protocol. I updated the blogs and Websites using the One-Click Automatic Upgrade at WordPress Admin Dashboard. I only activated the new web designs after I updated to WordPress 5.5 version.
I still have to upgrade the other Websites and blogs, and at the same time would have to redesign the current web designs into minimalist responsive one-column themes based on the new web designs of Sehdi.com and SofieHofmann.com Websites.
WordPress 5.5 “Eckstine” has new features again. Read about them at WordPress 5.5 “Eckstine” news entry at the WordPress Website. WordPress 5.5.1 Maintenance Release has been released as well featuring several bug fixes and enhancements.
Well then, if you have not upgraded yet, upgrade now. Make sure though to backup your databases and save your files and themes before you do anything.
Thank you again, WordPress Team.
