Upgraded to WordPress 4.6 “Pepper”

I finished upgrading all the blogs and sites using WordPress as a blog publishing platform as well as CMS (Content Management System) from WordPress 4.4.2 Security and Maintenance Release and WordPress 4.4.5 to WordPress 4.6 and WordPress 4.6.1.

I was not able to upgrade to WordPress 4.5 so I just upgraded to WordPress 4.6 before upgrading to WordPress 4.6.1.

I did not like to just upgrade to WordPress 4.6.1 right away so I downloaded WordPress 4.6 first which can be found at WordPress Release Archive. Then I uploaded all the files via FTP (File Transfer Protocol) before upgrading to WordPress 4.6.1 using the One-Click Automatic Upgrade at WordPress Admin Dashboard.

It took me sometime to finish upgrading all the 18 blogs and sites because I needed to save all the theme files and backup the databases before upgrading everything.

It would have been easier to update all the blogs and sites via the WordPress Admin Dashboard but I would like to see all the new features with WordPress 4.6 even if it would still be the same with WordPress 4.6.1 anyway.

I did not encounter any problems upgrading to WordPress 4.6 “Pepper” despite not upgrading to WordPress 4.5 “Coleman” after a WordPress 4.4 “Clifford” update. Everything went smoothly.

Below is the video of WordPress 4.6 “Pepper” with its new features.

If you have not upgraded yet, better update your blogs and sites now. The latest release is WordPress 4.6.1 which is a maintenance and security release for all the previous versions. Please read WordPress 4.6.1 Security and Maintenance Release to know more about the new version and why you should update your sites and blogs immediately.

Bear in mind though that before you upgrade or every time you upgrade, make sure to backup your database and files.

Thank you again, WordPress Team!
